photo of Barry SchneierBarry Schneier is a photographer and writer who began his career in the 1970s working with up and coming as well as established musicians in Boston, San Francisco and later in Los Angeles. It was there that he became immersed in the world of video and film production working on features, commercials, documentaries and eventually migrating over to the “new” genre of the era; the music video. Barry’s work has been exhibited in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, The Grammy Museum and is housed in permanent collections at Paramount Studios, CBS, MTV, The New England Folk Archives, The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music, Morrison Hotel Gallery, and Proud Gallery in London. His work has appeared in numerous books, publications and on album art. Barry is most noted for his work capturing a young Bruce Springsteen at The Harvard Square Theatre in 1974. Website

photo of Lou JonesLou Jones’ eclectic career has evolved from commercial to the personal. It has spanned every format, film type, artistic movement and technological change. He maintains a studio in Boston, Massachusetts and has photographed for Fortune 500 corporations, international companies and local small businesses including Federal Express, Nike and the Barr Foundation; completed assignments for magazines and publishers all over the world such as Time/Life, National Geographic and Paris Match; initiated long term projects on the civil wars in Central America, death row, Olympics Games and pregnancy; and published multiple books. Barry Schneier, Glory Bound

Glory Bound, an exhibition of photographs currently showing at the Pollak Gallery on the Monmouth University campus, features the work of photographer Barry Schneier. During the 1970’s Schneier photographed many of the giants of rock and roll on their way to stardom.

Glory Bound includes 13 images from Bruce Springsteen’s 1974 performance at the Harvard Square Theatre, some which have never been exhibited, as well as 70’s images of Patti Smith, Van Morrison, Jackson Browne, Boz Scaggs, Joan Armatrading, and others.

Schneier’s images have been collected by Paramount Pictures, Los Angeles, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, The Grammy Museum and The New England Folk Music Archives. Barry’s photographs can be scene at several galleries and his web site www.barryschneierphotography.com. 

Generous support for this exhibit has been provided by Gallery: 591974, a fine art photography gallery in Massachutsetts (www.gallery591974.com) and Digital Silver Imaging www.digitalsilverimaging.com, a fine art digital imaging lab that employs the latest digital equipment and editing tools to produce museum quality B&W and color prints.

The Pollak Gallery is open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday – Friday
