If you’ve ever wanted to get all of your workflow down in one workshop, then Lightroom Shoot, Import and Develop is the workshop for you. Requirements include basic knowledge of camera functions, and at least a general comfort level in using Lightroom.
In this full day workshop, the morning will be spent shooting in a lovely local location to be determined. You are free to shoot landscape images or join Kathy for a demonstration of various techniques for simple lighting solutions and background choices for great portraits. A model will be provided. Kathy will also discuss how to get the correct exposure, choosing the best aperture and shutter speed for any photo and how to pre-visualize your creative outcome. After a break for lunch, we will take our images back to the classroom to import, edit and enhance.
With Lightroom’s global adjustment tools you will learn how to set your white balance, and get the best exposure and contrast, add vibrance and clarity to your images, make variations for comparison using virtual copies, quickly see before and after images, synchronizing changes between multiple images, and setting your favorite settings as a one click preset.
Then, with the local adjustment tools, we can zero in on portraits and learn how to do simple edits to easily sharpen and whiten eyes and teeth, remove blemishes, and enhance skin tone. Some of the SAME tools can be used to enhance your landscape photos, including the adjustment brush to add color and specific saturation, the graduated filter for bringing drama to your skies, and radial filter techniques to direct the viewer’s eye to the focal point of your image.
