HURRICANE SANDY 10/30

October 30, 2012 by Digital Silver Imaging

Our lights are on and our team is at work. Production of prints is up and running but according to UPS there will be NO pickup or drop off today. We are doing our best to stay on schedule but with no way to ship orders some delays are unavoidable.

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to our friends in New York and in the path of the storm.

Be safe – DSI

HURRICANE SANDY 10/29

October 29, 2012 by Digital Silver Imaging

Because of notices that public transportation will be halted, we have sent our team home to weather the storm. We will monitor email and update our facebook page with news. Please continue to place orders and upload files as we will swing back into action ASAP.

Our regular shipper, UPS, will not be picking up today. We apologize for those of you waiting for prints or software ordered during Photo Plus. Those software orders are ready to go and ZuZu is patiently waiting for our UPS pickup.

For all our friends in the storm’s path we wish you good luck and hope that Sandy is merciful.

Best, DSI

Getting Dressed for the Opening

October 5, 2012 by Digital Silver Imaging

It never ceases to amaze the myriad details that go into hanging a show. Working out the layout, leveling the prints, painting the walls, creating the signage and hanging that too. There are moments of chaos and serendipity. Like any preparation it is all forgotten the moment the first guest walks in and the party begins.

Frances Jakubek and Paula Tognarelli of the Griffin Museum of Photography and Curator, J. Sybylla Smith, hung Undressed with a meeting of the minds and a few power tools.

British photographer, Venetia Deaden, collaborated with Mulberry the quintessentially British fashion house to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the brand.

Intimate images of the runway shows in London’s Kensington Palace and New York’s SoHo House are a rare view of what goes on behind the curtain. The hours of work by talented professionals create the magical and fleeting moments on the fashion stage. Captured with a keen eye to tell the untold story, Dearden’s work is delicate, respectful, charming and witty.

Local fashion editor Jill Radsken,  who caught a sneak peek described these images in one word – “breathtaking”. Join us at the opening reception October 5th and/ or at the gallery talk on the 25th.
